What do we offer you?

Would you rather be in the field than behind a desk? 🌱

At Agrafresh, vegetables go straight from the field to our cutting hall and on to the customer: fresh every day, never frozen. What ends up on the plate starts with good crops. That is why we are looking for an agronomist – crop advisor to guide our own fields and our contract growers, from sowing and planting all the way to harvest.

You are the link between the field and the factory. You know what is growing, how it is growing and when it will come in. With that knowledge you adjust course, advise growers and keep production, quality and planning aligned.

  • πŸ“ Egem (Pittem, West Flanders, Belgium), no traffic jams, and mostly out in the field

  • πŸ₯¬ Our own crops and our contract growers

  • πŸŽ“ Bachelor or master in agronomy, agricultural science, agro- and biotechnology or bioscience engineering

  • πŸ“„ Full-time, permanent contract

Wat zijn jouw verantwoordelijkheden als Agronoom-teelbegeleider?

  • Crop plans: you draw up crop plans and follow them through, in line with the production schedule.

  • In the field: you closely monitor crop development, yield and quality on our own fields.

  • Act early: you spot diseases, pests and crop risks in time and give targeted advice.

  • Soil and crop: you carry out soil and crop analyses and turn lab results into practical recommendations on fertilisation, irrigation and crop protection.

  • Quality at the gate: you monitor the quality and volume of incoming crops and flag deviations.

🀝 Your growers and your team

  • Contract growers: you advise and support our contract growers and suppliers, including during the winter period.

  • Field team: you plan, lead and coach the people in the field, on quality as well as pace.

  • Agreements and certification: you make sure crop protocols, agreements and certifications are respected.

  • Teamwork: you align planning, quality and volumes with production, quality and maintenance.

  • Reporting: you report on crop results and improvement points, so every season we grow a little better.

πŸ™‹ Who are we looking for?

What you bring:

  • A bachelor or master degree in agronomy, agricultural science, agro- and biotechnology or bioscience engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • A genuine interest in vegetable growing and the drive to be outdoors a lot, also when the weather is not on your side.

  • Dutch, to work with our growers and field team. French and/or English help too: we work with colleagues from different backgrounds.

  • You communicate clearly and convincingly, with growers as well as with your team.

  • You are analytical, structured and results-driven: independent, and a true team player.

  • A driving licence (category B).

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a crop advisor or in vegetable growing.

  • A Belgian crop protection licence (fytolicentie), or the willingness to obtain one.

  • Experience leading people.
